“Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.”

Psalm 19:4-5

Lord Jesus,

We thank you for the church around the world. We thank you that for each person who is in leadership within the church at this time. We thank you for all the ways they have innovated and found new ways to serve your people.

We pray that you would give them rest and restore them as we go into this next season. We pray for those that depend on them that they would know how loved and cared for they are. For all of those church leaders that are running on empty would you give them energy for the months ahead and vision for what you are calling them to.

Amen

“You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you.
Hear my prayer, Lord;
listen to my cry for mercy.
When I am in distress, I call to you,
because you answer me.”

Psalm 86:5-7

Lord Jesus,

We pray for the unrest at the time in Russia. You understand the intricate details of what is happening and we asked that you would bring peace to a country that seems so divided. We pray that those in power who are able to help bring an end to the unrest would do so and bring about restoration rather than seeking to further their power. We pray for each person who is affected by the unrest and they would be kept safe and secure.

Lord, we ask that you would bring rest to the souls of all those who work in the hospitality industry. Would they be able to know your peace in this time where it feels to busy and uncertain.

“When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?”

Psalm 8:3-4

Lord Jesus,

We thank you that long before the pandemic began you were mindful of us and you cared for us. We thank you that each person is known by you. When you were putting the moon and the stars in their place you were thinking of us and had a plan for us.

We pray today for those affected by Storm Christoph, with a large number of homes and businesses evacuated over the last few days. Take care of each person who has lost so much during these floods, with so many of them already struggling because of the pandemic may they know that you are close. We also pray for the emergency services who are going into these dangerous situations to help get people out, we pray that they are also kept safe.

In wisdom you made them all;

the earth is full of your creatures.”

Psalm 104:24

We thank you that as you take care of all the intricacies in all of your creation, you also take care of us with the same precision and compassion.

Psalm 73:28

Father,

We bring to you all our worries and anxieties about being in another lockdown, about the effects of the Coronavirus, and about being separated from some of our friends and family.

Lord, would you help us know your nearness so that we may find our strength in you. Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Matthew 6:26-27

Lord Jesus,
Thank you for our amazing key workers who have worked so incredibly hard over the course of the pandemic. We asked that as the pandemic continues and we have entered another lockdown each of the key workers in this country would be kept safe. For teachers who have been on the frontline teaching children we pray that they would have a fresh sense of enthusiasm to teach in this season. For the NHS we asked that each and everyone of them would know that we are so grateful for all that they are doing, we pray that you would ensure that as they come home from the hospital you would fill them with your peace.

Lord Jesus,
Today we thank you for your guidance at this time. We pray that you would guide us as we seek to be people who show kindness, humility, gentleness and patience to every one we encounter in this broken and fractured world.

We pray for our brothers and sisters in America, we ask that you would bring peace and reconciliation to that nation. We pray that into the division you would raise up people who will stand for what is right.

In this time we pray for hope that the world would come out of this pandemic more aware of those that are different to ourselves. Help us to see those that are different to us as a partner in this world.

“Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, Lord, how long?”

Psalm 6:2-3

Lord Jesus,
As we enter into a third lockdown, we pray for our nation. We pray that in each corner of our nation kids who thought they were going to go back to school after Christmas and now are back home would continue to have the energy to learn at home. For parents who are now faced with juggling working from home, teaching their kids and keeping their household running again. May they know peace in this time where they feel faint and they are asking ‘how long?’, draw alongside them and remind them of what a great job they are doing in the midst of incredibly difficult circumstances.

We pray for anyone who is isolated and alone once again, who’s ‘soul is in deep anguish’, would they feel close to you, would they feel close to their friends and family and would you keep them safe. We place them into your hands. As issues with mental health continue to rise, we pray for protection over our minds, to not buy into lies that we may have started to believe over ourselves. We know you are bigger than any lie we may begin to believe!

Amen
