We want to keep prayer at the heart of our church life so every few weeks, we’ll add some prayer points here for our church, our community and our world. We’d also love you to join us for our monthly worship and prayer evenings which take place on the first Tuesday of each month.

December 2023

A prayer for our church…

Ephesians 1:22 says "And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church". Let's be praying that as a church we would continue to look to Jesus; the one who is at the centre and in charge of it all.

A prayer for our local community…

As the nights get colder let's pray for those who are experiencing homelessness this Christmas time. Let's pray for charities in the local area like New Hope that support people experiencing homelessness.

A prayer for the world…

On 10th December, Jon spoke at our services about the description of Jesus in Isaiah 9:6, "Mighty God". What are you watching or reading in the news that's breaking your heart? Bring those things to Jesus now and remember that He is "Mighty God".

November 2023

A prayer for our church…

Christmas is fast approaching! So much is going on in the life of our church around this time (Christmas Market, Panto, Christmas Party, Christingle and Carol services). Let’s be praying that, in and amongst everything that’s going on, Jesus, the Light of the World, meets with his people and those that don’t yet know him.

A prayer for our local community…

Kim & Jo Hobbs (who are members of our church) are co-founders of Cornergate Foundation, which is a charity that works with prisoners and ex-offenders to support successful resettlement after prison. The work that Kim & Jo and the team do is amazing! Let’s be praying that God would continue to use Cornergate Foundation to transform the lives of prisoners and ex-offenders.

 A prayer for the world…

Let’s continue to pray for all those affected by the terrible violence in Israel and Gaza. We pray for…

  • people of all faiths – Jews, Muslims and Christians and for all people of the land.

  • an end to violence and the establishment of peace.

You’ll find more suggestions of ways to pray for Gaza and Israel here on the Tearfund website.
