Wednesday 20th May
Hear my prayer Lord;
let my cry for help come to you.
Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress.
Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly. Psalm 102:
Lord Jesus,
Thank you that you love us completely, especially the lost and broken.
We particularly cry out to you for everyone caught up in domestic abuse,
either physical or emotional, during this lock-down.
Please give them your peace and fortitude when they’re afraid
but also your courage to seek help and safety.
Protect the young minds of children who witness abuse
and alert other adults and agencies to their suffering.
We pray for the abusers; that they would find mentoring for
drug and alcohol dependence, anger management and healing
from the verbal and physical violence in their past.
Be in the crowded refuges and fill them with your loving presence,
giving back to each person the dignity they’ve lost.
Let all who suffer hear you speaking life and love deep in their hearts,
healing their deepest wounds from the past and restoring their lives.
In your mercy Lord,
Amen.
