Father,

We’re living through dark and frightening times:

the whole world is in crisis,

the future of our economy is grave.

We took our freedom and our safe, predictable lives for granted,

and now we walk into the unknown.

We fear for ourselves and those we love.

Thank you for walking alongside us as you did with your grieving friends on the road to Emmaus.

Even if we don’t recognise you, may the truth of who you are burn in our hearts as we make this journey.

And as we invite you into our locked down lives, energise us with your holy,life giving presence.
